Okay so there's this website, 750 Words, and the idea is that you write 750 words in a day to win. You can collect badges and stuff for how fast you write, or your longest streak, or for just a bunch of things. It's pretty cool. Every month they have a challenge where you pledge to write 750 words or more EVERY DAY for that whole month. I already signed up for next month's (August) challenge. I'll report back here on my progress. Anyone care to join me?? |

Here's my secret: I don't do work while I'm at work almost ever, because I have a government job and nobody cares if I just sit here thumbing my nose or producing whatever or meditating or watching Pride and Prejudice on Youtube. It might sound like a sweet setup, but it's actually really really depressing. Nobody cares if I'm here or not, not even my bosses; nobody cares about the effort I put into stuff; nobody cares, full stop. My motivation to work has therefore suffered a painful and lingering death over the course of many years. Which, unfortunately, killed ALL my motivation to do ANYTHING. Including writing. So I work on the forum to get my creative juices flowing! I have all these fun things I've found and couldn't do anything with, but now here we are, with the perfect space to share! This is a lot of fun, and I'm finally feeling like a person again. It's wonderful!! Meanwhile, yaay challenge! Want to start a chain of "this is my favorite bit of the 750 words I wrote today" here? We can do daily check-ins with each other, to compliment the work AND the progress! It's not long now until we get to get started. So excited!! |

Well I got a weird... cold? thing that came with an unexpected fever, so I lost the challenge. Ugh. But! Part of my agreed upon forfeit was to sign up for next month's challenge so off I go!
